    Research Strategy

1.TOPIC: How are you framing your topic? (Who - What - Where - Why - When?)

    2. SOURCES: What types of evidence would you like to find (or are required)?

    Types of Sources:Research Tools:

    Books

    Harvest Catalog

    Articles (from newspapers,
    magazines, journals)

    Subscription Database(s)

    Websites (reputable)

    Commercial Search Engines

    Personal experiences

    You :)

    3. SEARCH: What can you find about your topic in reputable, published sources?

    4. REFINE: If you are finding a lot, narrow your focus

Sometimes tracking down a few sources and reading them is a good strategy to help you identify a focus. It is typical to revise your question as you learn more about a topic.
