Finding Your Scholarly Article Print Page

Step 1: Search the Electronic Journals List

A. Access the library's Electronic Journals A-Z list. Use the VPN if you are off-campus!

B. Search for the journal name cited in your popular article 
    (e.g. Nature, New England Journal of Medicine, Astrophysical Journal Letters)


Step 2: Is the Journal Available?

YES: Follow the link to access the online subscription:

  • Make sure you check the coverage. Some subscriptions include select articles only, or are limited to specific dates, e.g. v.1 (1869) - v.163 (1949).

NO: If the journal is not available online, search the Harvest UC Davis Catalog to see if a print copy is held in the library:

  • If the library owns the journal, view the 'all items' link in the catalog record.
  • To find the issue you need, note the call number and consult a map.
  • Ask a Librarian if you have questions.



Step 3: Locate Your Article

Search for the study by author and topic:


Step 4: Access & Read the Article

Save/download the PDF version of your article to analyze:
