Adam earned a BA in Linguistics at the University of Minnesota, an MA in Linguistics at UC Berkeley, and an MLIS at San Jose State University. He also studied at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. Areas of interest include Central and Eastern European languages and literatures, Near Eastern languages and literatures, and literary translation and translation theory. Current projects include translations of prose fiction by two German writers, Hubert Fichte and Joerg Fauser.
